Is your personal information on the Internet safe?

Are the web sites you visit safe? Does anyone ever read the privacy information?

This is a great topic and is the same topic I have selected for the Davis paper. I have found several good books and articles on privacy on the internet including the book I Love the Internet, but I Want My Privacy, Too!by CHRIS PETERSON. Many of the articles I have been reading seem to discuss the pull between those who want government intervention and those who want to keep government regulations away from the internet. Any thoughts on that ?

I think that people's views on government control of the internet are going to have as many opinions as there are people.

The majority seem to take a strong viewpoint on keeping our medical information private, does that mean that where I surf on the web, deserves that same degree of privacy? And should the government need to be task master over that? Who's watching the watchers??
